Research & Development

The Production Products' Research and Development Department is comprised of engineers and technicians capable of providing design, manufacturing, and low cost prototyping and production of a wide range of composite and textile structures.
We offer complete design and analysis of advanced composites and metal structures and have in-house capability to perform structural testing - including high dynamic rate (ballistic and impact testing).
We have won the Tibbetts Award for SBIR excellence and in August 2000 were recipients of the 2000 Army SBIR Phase II Quality Award.  The Army Quality Award was for developments made in cure and health monitoring with Fiber Optic Sensors in Liquid Molded Structures.

Research & Development Efforts Include: Fiber Optic Sensors in Composite Utility Poles, Fiber Optic Sensors in Filament Wound Composite Missiles, Elastomeric Composite Bumpers, Ceramic Matrix Composites, Civil Structure Applications, Fiber Optic Sensors in Liquid Molded Ballistic Armor Panels, Polyurethane Shock and Vibration Mounts, Submarine Composite Storage Modules, Composite Canopies for Boats, Composite Ship Rudders, Ballistic Fuel Tanks, Titanium Tow Bars, and Wood Dunnage, to name a few.
